May 9, Palette and Miles
Another image that I realized doesn't lend itself to a quick interpretation. Its layered and its detailed parts are not quick. Its layered like an onion,(Thank you Karen.) So thin layers will convey the feelings and mood I am trying to achieve. Many times I have forced the paint to have that impasto effect on pictures that don't relate.Paint the image in the way the image requires. Don't make the picture something it is not. Don't go against nature. The Pallete Paintings, need to be layered. I will show progression of the process. This image is an houre in. While painting I was listening to Miles Davis the Jack Johnson sessions. The flow of his notes reflect how the notes flow on the canvas.
